Biography

Dr. How Bing Shen, Associate Professor at Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak, is an active researcher working in the field of Process Systems Engineering. His main interests fall on developing circular and decarbonisation strategies that help different industry sectors in achieving the net zero emissions goal. He has continuously applied his knowledge and skillsets in various industry projects, facilitating the industry stakeholders in addressing challenges faced on their path towards low-carbon future. Given his active presence and contributions to the field, he has received multiple national and international awards, including Young Reseracher Award under IChemE Malaysia Award 2021, Young Researcher Award under IChemE Global Award 2021, SCEJ Award for Outstanding Asian Researcher and Engineer 2022, National Outstanding Young Researcher Award under Private Education Excellence Award 2024, and Young Scientist Award under Tan Sri Emeritus Professor Augustine S.H. Ong International Special Award on “Innovations and Inventions in Palm Oil 2024. Besides, Dr. How is an expert in P-graph optimisation – a graph-theoretic tool that can generate all combinatorically feasible solutions for a given process network synthesis problem.
